Cheung Chau Island

The Cheung Chau Island is situated 10 kilometers from the South Western side of Hong Kong. It is a delightful island and offers a soothing, natural ambience ideal for a relaxing babymoon. Moms-to-be will love this island destination that offers that much needed peace and calm for an ideal vacation.

With motherhood comes plenty of responsibilities and not to mention those sleepless nights. Before you take the plunge into parenthood, give yourself and your spouse a memorable babymoon on the exotic island of Cheung Chau.

The island is small in size; however it has a thriving population of more than 20,000 people. The middle area of the island is comparatively lower than the rest of the island and this is where the people of the island mostly have their homes. Another name for the island is “Dumbbell Island”, owing to its unique shape that resembles a dumbbell.

The people living in this fascinating island still hold on to their traditions and cultures, and this will make your babymoon even more special as you get a first-hand experience of the local culture. The people of the island go fishing and own several restaurants that serve the most sumptuous seafood. One of the best things about going for a babymoon on an island is the variety of seafood that you get to taste- being a pregnant mom you will experience frequent hunger pangs, and the seafood in Cheung Chau is really worth trying out; you will want more and more of it.

Not only will you want more and more of the delicious seafood, but also more of the natural beauty around you.

If you happen to visit Cheung Chau during May, you will catch up with the famous Bun Festival. During this festival, the locals climb a tower that is fully covered with buns. This festival lasts for a full five days, allowing you to relish the fun and adventure that spreads infectiously through the island. On the third day the participants need to dress up as historical characters and ride on floats. During the last day of this festival, buns from the tower are distributed throughout the island, and people keep them safely believing that these buns bring good luck to their homes.

Fishing is an integral part of the life of the people in this island. You will notice that the ports of the island are always bustling with fishing activity from the early hours of the morning.

Similar to other islands, Cheung Chau has its special moments in the form of splendid sunsets. Enjoy these breathtakingly beautiful sunsets with your spouse as you look forward to a wonderful life together as happy parents.

A babymoon is all about bonding with your better half and experiencing the love that you share in a special way. Cheung Chau Island will give you many special memories as you try and balance both the important roles in your life- of a loving wife and a devoted mother.

The Cheung Chau Island offers two delightful beaches - the Kwun Yam Wan Beach and the Tung WanBeach. Both these beaches provide an amazing landscape and exceptional scenery. During the summers, both these beaches can get quite crowded. Therefore if you are looking for something quieter, you will have to head out for the more peaceful beaches in and around the island.

Beitiao Pavilion is said to be the best tourist spot in the island. Your babymoon would surely feel complete once you visit this spot that opens out to a spectacular view of the island.

The interiors of the island are good for long walks and are rich with green vegetation - a treat for your eyes.
